The registration process this year will be quite different from anything we’ve ever done! We are holding an open-house, come-when-you-can registration. Registration will take place on Saturday, August 29th from 11:00am-1:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Ed Hall (the room where Prep and CH1 choirs rehearse). Registration is REQUIRED for all new and returning singers. If your singer would like to participate in HVCC, you MUST attend registration. The registration process will go something like this:
You will be greeted and pick up a schedule, a volunteer form, and a pre-filled out registration form, on which you will verify that all the information is current and correct. Then you will be directed to your choir coordinator(s) where they will introduce themselves and discuss anything about their choir that they need to say and answer any questions that you may have about your particular choir. You’ll then be directed to our volunteer coordinator who will explain everything you need to know about volunteering and they will direct you to whichever volunteer jobs you may be interested in signing up for (some volunteer jobs are available as first-come-first-serve, like providing a dessert for the senior event, ushering a concert, distributing posters, so if one of those jobs appeals to you, definitely be there toward the beginning of the registration time frame.). You will also have the opportunity to speak to the various coordinators of the different fundraisers to learn about said fundraisers, if you’re interested in fundraising. You’ll then be directed to Uniforms, where you can find out about what uniform pieces you’ll need, when the uniform measurement schedules are, and the ordering process. After uniforms, you’ll spend sometime with your choir director, who will introduce themselves and discuss anything exciting that may be happening with your choir this coming year. Finally, you’ll be directed to Jean, our Business Manager, who will take your registration form, tuition payment, confirm you’ve signed up for at least one volunteer job, and answer any remaining questions that you may have. It sounds like a lengthy process, but in total it should only take 15-20 minutes, depending on how much time you spend at each station.
